Macbook Sleep Wake failure in EFI (Failure code:: 0xffffffff 0x0000001f)

I have two macbook's, one model end 2018 and one model begin 2019.

They both suffer from the same problem with a fresh installation (also reset NVRAM, PRAM, SMC).

The crash reason: Sleep Wake failure in EFI

Failure code:: 0xffffffff 0x0000001f

I already contacted Senior Support for this and have a running case for both.

If you run into the same problem, please let me know here.

To trace down the problem more info of different devices can be useful.

If I get feedback that solves it, I'll post it here.

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.15

I had the same problem, and finally found a very odd solution. In my case, after a lot of frustrating work, I traced the problem to an old USB hub I was using on my new mac. Once I disconnected the old USB hub, the problem immediately stopped. In my case, it was surprising and very lucky to discover that the problem seemed to be associated with an attached electronic component. Hope this helps you.

I received a call from Apple support and was told that the engineers are now aware of this problem and are working on an update. There's no ETA on this update but for now there's nothing they can do. This is very frustrating forking out a lot of cash for an upgraded 16" Macbook Pro that I only had for a few days and there's a problem like this. He apologized and that was it. Just thought I'd pass this on.

So I have a 2012 Mac book pro. My computer was working perfectly and I didn't update in a very long while. Something told me to update my computer this year because this is the last year my model is supported. So I updated it thinking it was a good decision, wrong. Once I updated a bunch of softwares I had already installed no longer worked and now I'm having issues such as this WAKE FAILURE BS. More then likely apple may just be sabotaging their own devices so you could buy more 🤦🏾‍♂️

I was just on support with Apple and the person had me reset my NVRAM--we'll see if that does it. I have it set to go to sleep after a minute at the moment, so its been awakened successfully many times since, but this was an intermittent problem before (once every few days and for no particular reason), so I'm not convinced it it solved. I've kept the case ID and will get back in touch with them if it does it again.

I'm also having this issue, with a late 2013 13" MacBook Pro (Dual-Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD). I didn't even notice it until my computer was making an odd noise, opened it up to it booted in Windows when I had closed it in MacOS, restarted it and that's the error code that showed up.

Error Code is as follows:

Sleep Wake failure in EFI

Failure code:: 0xffffffff 0x0000001f

I have a MacBook Air, 1.7GHz i7, 13" Mid-2013, 8GB RAM, OWC "Aura Pro" SSD 480GB, with the same exact message. When it's off, and I turn it on, it usually boots normally. If it's asleep, and I open it, it will boot twice, and then say, "Your Mac was restarted because of a problem" same exact error code as yours. This machine was "Frankensteined" as an Apple tech would say--it originally was a 4/128, but I bought an 8GB board from PB Medic, and more storage from OWC/MacSales.com.

Exactly the same problem here with my brand new Macbook Air 2020, Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 1.1 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 256GB SSD. The OS is Catalina 10.15.4.

I have tried everything: resetting SMC, resetting NVRAM or PRAM, fresh reinstalling OS Catalina, disable standby, disable sleep, disable hibernation. Nothing can fix the problem. Really upset and disappointed with Apple.

Strange!

I am on a early 2014 MacBook Air. It was my wife's and she was not using it because the SSD was 128 and it was full.

I took it and swapped the SSD with a 1TB NVMe.

Since the change of the SSD, it was crashing every single time I opened the lid after a long while. Now I changed the standby to 0 and seems ok so far. Maybe I should leave it longer to make sure it has indeed changed. I'll update here if it happens again.

I'm having same issue with a 2016 MacBook Pro 13, running macOS Catalina.

Because of this, my display is not working. The screen is totally blank and black.
