Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

"Not enough space" in iMovie while trying to import any media (lots of disk space).

I cannot import any media into a new / old project.

Even a tiniest media gives "Not enough disk space" / "There is not enough disk space at the selected destination".

No external drives used, the system has 50+Gb free space.

I saw other people having the same kind of trouble, but no meaningful response yet.

This happens 1 day (1st try opening iMovie) after upgrading to Catalina.

BTW: I tried to remove preferences, it didn't help.

Basically, cannot use iMovie at all.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Mabooka,

The "not enough space" issue has been reported by several others.

The solution is to redownload iMovie. To do that, drag your iMovie icon from

the Applications folder into the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then sign in

to the online app store with your Apple I.D. and password. Open your app store

account by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store sidebar. Review

your purchases list. iMovie should be there to download. Do the download and,

if it is successful, you can empty the trash of your present iMovie app. If for

some reason the download is not available, move your present iMovie out of the

trash and replace it in the Applications folder.
