Apple Notes Blank

Same! Has anyone found a fix other than restarting phone? That’s about the only thing that works at the moment 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have done that and it works BUT it happens way too often and when you are out and about and NEED those notes, it’s not helpful. So now I am putting all important notes in my “phone folder”.

I agree that it seems related to a recent iOS update at least for me. Does doing a hard close of notes not work for you? It’s annoying but it’s much quicker than doing a total restart of phone.

I'm dealing with the same problem. This happens randomly so I never know when I'm going to look for the information on the Note and unexpectedly not have it available. It's really inconvenient to have to restart my phone! Is there a way to prevent this? I keep my phone updated, and this happens even if I've restarted the phone within the last few days. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i have the same problem. i sync mine with my gmail, and the note will appear in the list, but with no subtext. so i clicked a note of lyrics i had compiled over the past ten years, which was blank. i clicked the body to see if it might reappear but it didn't, so i hit back, and then it automatically deleted the note. i looked on my laptop and it was gone also. luckily i had a backup from five days ago in my gmail, but i don't understand why it would automatically delete it off my laptop and treat it as though there is no text. quite infuriating, and i have no way how to salvage the last few days' work.

my New iPhone 11 which I’ve had a week is doing that too. Never had issues with notes before. This is really annoying. My notes are still there but can’t see them. However if I forward in an email to myself it’s there.

clearly there’s a bug and I wonder if it’s with the really expensive iPhone 11. What version do others have?

I feel for you having issues like this.. and I don't have a solution for you. Just makes me glad that I changed all my notes over to iCloud a couple years back rather than Gmail like they used to be. I would also be quite frustrated with something like this.

What I wanted to point out, as several people have made comments to the effect that Apple is not responding.. like you think you are talking to Apple in your posts. When you post on here, you are talking to a user based community and the people who respond here are just like me and you.

Same here just started last update, tho. 11pro. I can use the reminder screen for notes. Fortunately I have some entry codes on notes, but I added the codes onto the address book, whew! I have backup on my MAC on itunes, so if it gets necessary, I can restore. I'm too cheap to pay for the cloud memory. I won't let the cloud on our MAC, so there. Someone here said you can forward the notes to email and see them. I might do that as a save on the ones I think I need.

This is crazy. Just after I posted my reply in this topic, I started doing some other things that did not involve my phone. After about 5 minutes I realized that although I had my earbuds “implanted” in my ears but I wasn’t listening to music, podcast, audiobook. Nothing. I opened the TuneIn app and reflexively opened the Notes app. Voilà! All my notes appeared!

Maybe it has something to do with syncing and iCloud??

Since upgrading my iPad Pro to iOS 14.4 a week ago, this blank notes problem hasn’t happened at all. It used to occur regular as clockwork, two to three times a day.

Too soon to declare it fixed, until others also confirm it’s not happening in 14.4, but maybe there is hope?

This happens to me constantly! It’s very frustrating since I use my notes all the time.

Same here. Title is there, but when i open the note content is invisible.

This might help until they fix the bug; double quick and note will open in a separate window showing it’s content ;-)

Same issue. It’s been happening for about 6 months or so. Closing the notes app seems to help. Define random bug.

Same here! It happens on and off and seems to only affect notes in the “email” folders but not “iPhone and / or iCloud ” folders.

I finally switched to google keep and stopped using notes on my phone. Apple should be able to fix this.
