with Catalina 10.15.1 none of my dvd player apps work
Is anyone having trouble with dvd apps since upgrading to OS Catalina 10.15.1?

VLC is a free player for Mac, and is Catalina compatible. I also use Smart Converter Pro (paid version) to rip DVD's from my super drive to my computer if they don't have the digital downloads as some dvd's do. Both have free versions as well

Well I assume they are 32 bit which is why they won't work. I just read an article saying a lot of apps may not be updated to work with the 64 bit system for a while, if ever. I just got quicktime to work, but the window is quite small. Very frustrating. Do you know what 64 bit video apps are available? I am still researching as I write these posts
What DVD apps would that be? Are they 32 or 64 bit?
No, sorry, I have never used a DVD or video with my newer Macs - only the older one with Sierra which still allows 32 bit.
The only way I can think of is to go here and check compatibility of an app with Catalina
thanks!
Please note that "ripping" commercial DVDs violates DRM and copyright laws as well as the ToU here.
