There is a cracking/popping sound when I play music/video using the mbp speakers, and jump to next song/video

I just got my 16 inch macbook pro. There is a cracking/popping sound when I play music/video using the mbp speakers, and jump to next song/video. Is this hardware or software issue?

I've had the same mpb speaker pops with my MacBook Pro 16 (OS 10.15.3) and since I've upgraded it to the newest OS version 10.15.4 that was just released I no longer have the issue. It appears Apple may have fixed the issue with the latest version of Mac OS.

Try upgrading to 10.15.4 and see if the problem is fixed.

the applications have the same problem. For example, when I play a piano virtually, the same sizzle starts to come. it is impossible to perform music in this way. I was almost deaf the other day. logic, studio one, premiere pro or final cut. they all have the same problem. I have to deliver my project to my school within 2-3 months, but it seems that there may be important problems in my life because of this problem.

I got a new MacBook Pro 16 inch and I have been experiencing pops and crackles in the audio playback. When I'm using Logic Pro if I play a bass sound there's a ratting crackle that plays during the bass note. Cannot tell if the speakers are peaking or if this is a software issue. I've had this machine for 3 months now and there's no liability being taken for this issue. Not sure what to do...

It's be a shame if it's a hardware problem but I guess I'll wait and see if Apple releases anything because overall it is a good machine. The issue is also consistent when using Apple Music or streaming videos online.

Understandable. Do what you makes you feel comfortable because even with a reformat Apple's internet recovery remembers the last OS update version on your Mac because it's on their servers so you'd end up downloading 10.15.4 again. But if you start hearing more positive experiences of no more popping sounds then consider updating at that time.

Well we're all basically speculating. I'm not saying it's guaranteed that the issues you were experiencing were due to faulty parts. There are thousands of the 16" MBP's that have been sold and some will have differently sourced parts but it doesn't mean defects will happen. That was just unfortunate for you.

I still having issue. I ordered my MacBook directy from Amazon.

It is a standard configuration and it continues popping.

I'm using the usb-c near the audio jack to recharge my mbpro 16".

Now I'm trying to recharge the MacBook from the left sided usb-c. I'll see if things will go better...

In which port do you recharge your laptop?

Is there a way I can check my audio chipset to check if it is the same as your?

Well I don't know why anyone would play high bass on the 16" MBP speakers. You can blow them. Quitting Safari in the middle of playback does not produce any pops or clicks for me.

"I reached out to Apple again and they acknowledged the issue and said to wait for a future update. So it’s not entirely fixed. "

It may not be entirely fixed for you but it's entirely fixed for me and several others. Would you be able to explain how that could be?

LMAO! Firstly, the fact that you asked me to me listen to a Taylor Swift song on my precious MacBook Pro is punishment enough. 😂. I heard a very slight and faint sound when going through all the steps you just mentioned upon quitting. A non issue. I think anyone can make ANY computer make slight quirks in sound or even video anomalies when doing multiple steps. Interesting when I NORMALLY hit Command Q while punishing myself with that video there's zero popping. Having to play a video and minimize it then using Command Tab to navigate to Safari then quit it from there is over the top.

This isn't the issue in the first place. The issue is about scrubbing through videos while using Safari, Chrome or other browsers. Also when scrubbing through the Final Cut Pro Timeline and Quicktime videos. That issue has been addressed. You're creating your own scenario with multiple steps that's not a common use and the sound is so mild it's not something most would ever notice. But I shouldn't be surprised since you mentioned playing high-bass music on the MacBook Pro speakers which is ridiculous.
