how to use Airpods Pro with helmet/gloves on?

i cannot use stem control when im wearing my snowboard helmet and gloves.

With my old airpods i could just tab on the earflap on my helmet with the gloves on. But with the new airpods pro, i gotta take the gloves off and put my hand thru underneath the helmet to squeeze on the stem. This is a huge inconvenience for everyone using airpods with helmet and gloves.

why did apple take out tap control on new airpods pro?
