Update has made phone to hot to hold

I updated to the lasted software yesterday and since then my device if used for longer than a few minutes becomes very hot. To the point that I’m not able to hold it for long. It’s an iPhone 7+ and has worked perfectly until this update occurred. It is making the device unusable. Has anyone had similar problems and were you able to fix it. I will be contacting the ACCC on Monday if I am unable to resolve this problem but hoping someone may be able to help me before I need to go down this path.

Has that phone's battery ever been replaced? It could be the battery failing.

Make an appointment at an Apple store for help.
