16" MacBook Pro and CalDigit TS3+ Freeze

Last week I got the new 16" MacBook Pro and most things are working well. I get to work this morning and plug it into my dock with my 24" 4k screens (2) and it works fine until I close the computer for clamshell mode. It freezes then. I can move the mouse but nothing responds including the MBP when opened back up.

Anyone else having this?

Dock keeps freezing Hello Apple Community, I'm having an issue on my MacBook Pro(s) (14" M1 Pro, 2021): Sometimes when I move the cursor to the Dock the Dock freezes. After moving the cursor out of the Dock and in again the Dock is back to normal. I've had the same issue on my previous MacBook Pro (15" Retina, 2012) with mac OS Big Sur. Although I did not move my data from the old machine the problem is reoccurring. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Monterey: Finder icon in Dock keeps freezing From time to time the finder icon in the dock freezes in the state as if I click & hold with the mouse on it. The dock then becomes unresponsive until I show all applications with F3 and then click somewhere on the dock. I'm running a fresh installation of Mac OS 12.2.1 on a MacBook Pro 14'', 2021 with an M1 Max. Any idea why this is happening? Does anyone else encounter this?

FREEZING in here Macbook Pro mid 2012 10.13.6 Mac freezes every 10 minutes or so. The cursor moves freely wherever I point it but all programs freeze anywhere from 5 to about 25 seconds, then Un-freeze & then fine until the next episode. Ive tried to search out answers & have "reset" all the suggested acronyms but nothing has worked so far. I see in a user response from 2017 that the next thing to try is to create a new user & see if that works BUT the target article is not there! Here's what I mean: If your issues persist after resetting the NVRAM and SMC you'll want to create a test user and see if the behaviours persist within a new user account. Here is a great resource on using a test user to isolate an issue: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. since I can't get that article can anyone explain what to do after "creating a new user"?? Thanks much!

I talked with the Apple representative today for about an hour and collected reports, video, pictures and sis diagnose. Hopefully this can all be solved soon!

Same here! I was offered to get deeper tech support but opted not to use their resources for that since my issue is not critical.... annoying, but not critical.

I also had the setting enabled. And I cannot operate on the 16" MBP in clamshell mode at all.

I did not try clamshell mode. I generally run my laptop open with to monitors connected through the dock.

BTW, I can not reboot my laptop with the dock plugged in. With the dock plugged in, it will freeze.

The latest beta was released today after nearly a month (Dec 19) since the last beta of 10.15.3. This is beta 2. I will be testing it out tomorrow when I get to work. Hopefully we get somewhere!

I upgraded to the beta 10.15.2 and the problem is still not fixed. I am reading throughout the Internet that almost all thunderbolt docks are having problems. It seems from this that it is Apple‘s problem to fix. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

When I looked at the firmware update for the TS3, it didn't mention monitors, but now it does. Before it only mentioned charging to 87w laptops.

The new TS3 Plus firmware 44.1 provides support for charging a laptop up to 87W
It also improves compatibility and interoperability with some USB-C monitors when connecting to the TS3 Plus’s downstream Thunderbolt 3 port

I just upgraded to 10.15.3 too, hopefully this issue is fixed.

Running with the screen open seems to work just fine for me with the CalDigit TS3+. I run that way now but I would prefer not to.
