Why are you putting a red (1) one notification on System Preferences to upgrade to Catalina?

I understand the notification red circle icon on the app icon WHEN it's a security or mandatory update, but WHY when it's an optional system upgrade? I do NOT want to upgrade to Catalina yet. We use a few legacy apps (32-bit), plus we need to make sure our new apps are all updated from those companies first, before we do. This isn't Apple-like. That red icon is a call to action for an issue or notification of something we need to address, it's not an advertisement.

These are fellow user supported communities and Apple leadership and product teams do not participate here, as these posts are archived by Google. The terms of the community also preclude speculation about Apple's decision to badge an operating system upgrade in System Preferences. You can send the macOS Product team direct feedback on this.
