I'll try to make it short and sweet. I had to have my phone restored due to a password issue, causing me to find out the hard way that my phone hadn't been backed up since March. All of my texts beyond March 6th are wiped from my phone, BUT! They're still on my Apple Watch. I NEED to keep some of those messages, but I'm afraid if I update my watch, I will lose those messages. Is there a way to get those messages back onto my phone? I considered taking screenshots from my watch, but there would be hundreds by the time I was done. Even if there was a way to get the messages off of my watch to another device, that would be great! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, there is no way to get the messages from the Watch back on the iPhone. And, as you have discovered, the only method to get them off the watch is screenshots. If you were using Messages in iCloud, they would be synced across devices. But as you have painfully found, you need to ensure that you are taking regular backups of the device. Setup correctly, the iPhone will do an automatic backup nightly when the iPhone is connected to wi-fi, power, and the screen is locked. That way, the worse that can happen is the loss of about 24 hours worth of data.
