Bluetooth issues with Toyota Entune System

Since the most recent update when pairing my iPhone 7 it works for about 2 minutes and the radio system turns off and reboots. Toyota said it was an update issue with Apple and interestingly it does not do it with another phone using IOS 12. Anyone else having this issue and if so any solution? Thanks

So I disabled in the bluetooth settings on my iphone 8plus sync contacts and sync notifications and Bluetooth works perfect. On my Iphone 8plus Im running IOS 13.3.1 and on the entune system Im running firmware 010192. I dont care about syncing contacts to Entune nor do I care about notifications. I just care that I can make and receive calls and listen to music via Amazon music or Apple Music.

I have an iPhone X and just purchased a new 2019 Highlander. I checked the information on the Toyota website to make sure they were compatible, and Toyota information says they are. Connecting Bluetooth makes the Entune system reboot constantly. I have not been able to use the hands free at all. I am sick about it reading this is an ongoing issue. Toyota knows this is an issue and still advertising the compatibility is false advertising. Had I known, I would NOT have purchased the car. I’m contacting the BBB and letting them know I did not get what I paid for. States are passing hands free laws and I thought I made a smart purchase, but I feel tricked.

Wrong. I was in contact with an Apple tech of the highest level. A tech who worked with me. You may have been able to follow the directions and BOOM fixed, but that is not the case with everyone. Toyota put in more than one type info/media radio systems in their vehicles. Some are still not working. Also, my IPhone X was using the latest update before I purchased the car! Toyota was still advertising it was compatible. Toyota said it was a known issue. False advertising sale to me. Toyota put a cheap old technology system in a luxury vehicle and is waiting for Apple to fix it. Toyota put Apple Car Play in their 2020 models, and Apple car play should have been in the 2019’s. Some people who paid 40k and more for 2019 Toyota’s and it’s Entune system did not get what they paid for.

I, too, purchased a 2019 Highlander and am using the iPhone XR. One problem is that only 2/4 contact photos show on the dashboard display. The other problem is when I am on a call my options are phone, speaker, Toyota Highlander and Apple. What is this Apple option, and why is it showing on my phone. It’s aggravating! If I disconnect from Bluetooth, the Apple option goes away, but the number of contact photos does not change. I am highly disappointed that that is not being brought to the forefront at purchase time. I have had other Apple phones and just turned in a 2017 Camry. I had no problems, AT ALL!!!

Toyota would not say that ever.... it’s not Toyota’s problem when apple goes and changes things. Here’s a thought get a new phone.... y’all are “oh I’m calling bbb” “I’m taking my car back” why don’t you go buy a diff phone. Oh that’s right the general population rather point the blame to the vehicle and not take ownership of their own mistake and would much rather spend thousands a year on new phones but skip vehicle maintenance

Take a look at the ratings of the Toyota Entune system for yourself. It’s sub standard. This was my 4th Toyota purchased over many years. I don’t get a discount on them. I purchased it because they make them locally and it is good for our local economy. I have also always had an Apple iPhone. I hope you do buy a Samsung and get off the Apple community. Apple helped me. Technology is changing so fast I don’t want to buy old technology in a new 40k car.
