apple@applesupporte.com, apple@applesecure.info for Stolen iPhone

My iPhone recently got stolen. I have been receiving messages from apple@applesecure.info informing me that the iPhone has been found and if I need to view the location, I need to respond with a YES. At the same time, I got a FaceTime Audio call from Aple@aplesupporte.com which I rejected suspecting it to be from the same scamsters.

I believe these are the same people trying to retrieve my apple ID so that they can unlock the phone and use it.

Now I see that the phone got erased this morning when the gang may have tried to connect to the network. Has anyone faced a similar issue?

If you remove the device from your Apple ID, using the steps below, that unlocks the device.

There have been similar posts here before. And yes, someone was hoping you’d give away your AppleID password so they could disable activation lock on that device.

Anyone can always erase a device in iTunes, which will break the find my remote tracking features. But as long as that device is listed under your AppleID’s trusted device list, then activation lock remains in effect and will prevent anyone from activating and using it.
