Bluetooth headphones feedback buzz when holding iPhone and louder when touching home button

My bluetooth headphones make a loud buzzing noise when I pick up my iPhone, and the buzzing gets even louder if I touch the Home button on the phone. Is there a setting that addresses this by any chance?

Hi tr888,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're having an issue with your Bluetooth headset and I'd like to do what I can to help out.

Bluetooth devices can pick up interference, and this article has some tips to help with that: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

Are your headphones connected to your iPhone?

If so, do you have the same issue when connected to a different device?

Do you have the same issue with another Bluetooth device connected to your iPhone?

If you put your iPhone into Airplane Mode, do you still have the same interference? If not, enable Wi-Fi while still in Airplane Mode and see if the interference starts up again. If not, turn off Airplane Mode, and see if it starts up again with the cellular connection active. This will help isolate to either connection.

Use Airplane Mode on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch

Take care!

Hey tr888,

Thanks for the reply and the additional information, we appreciate it.

Did you have a chance to connect your headphones to a different device, such as your iPhone? Does the interference still happen?

Try removing the iPhone case also, and see if that makes a difference in the interference.

I'd also suggest contacting the headphones manufacturer to see how to check for a firmware update.

Thanks!

Sorry that I cannot recall all the questions you asked because this site scrolls your posting up out of view when I click Reply, and the vertical scrollbar in the browser window has no effect when trying to scroll your post back into view.

My bluetooth headphones are connected to my computer, not to my phone.

The buzzing/humming sound in my headphones is loudest when I touch the home button on the iPhone and that happens regardless of whether it is in Airplane Mode or not. But the buzz/hum is quite audible even if I'm simply holding the phone (with rubber case) in my hand and not touching the screen or any buttons.

If I gingerly hold the phone between two fingers (touching only the rubber case) it is audible. It is louder if I place the phone in my open palm. It is loudest when I touch the home button.
