Cannot remove a damaged or incomplete file

Hi All,

I tried to install the Avast free app to clean my MacBook. However, it did not have the desired result and I decided to remove it. I have used the Avast uninstall option and it cleared everything but a corrupt file with the avast.app itself. The file is located in a Staged Extensions folder in Library. It does not allow me to delete it at all. I have also tried deleting it via safe mode, no luck. It does not let me move it to the trash either. I cannot make any changes to this file or the folders it is in. I also read several other posts on the internet how to delete corrupt files, but none of it worked for me(e.g. to rename and change the extension type and try and replace it with another blank doc file with the same name).

During Safe Mode, the system showed a message - 'Avast cannot be deleted or modified because it's required by macOS.'

In normal working mode it just says 'You can't open the Avast application because it may be damaged or incomplete.

The file cannot be found on the launchpad as the official app has apparently been deleted, but I can still find the corrupt file in finder/applications. Please help me to remove this annoying leftover from my Mac!

I am also attaching screenshots of the messages.
