pairing iPhone 7 to 2019 Honda CRV EXL

2019 Honda CRV owners. I have an iPhone 7 with updated software. Just purchased a 2019 Honda CRV with CarPlay, paired it with AppleMap but it is not working the way it should, When I connect the phone to the car, pull up Apple maps for directions, it shows the directions but is nonverbal. When I disconnect the phone , it then gives the verbal directions through the phone with the map on the Honda navigation screen.

Took it back to the dealership, and they said it was the phone.

BTW, my husband has the exact same phone, same updated software and his phone (after hours of trying to sync finally works, - can’t figure out what he did).

We still have been unable to get my iPhone 7 to work with the Honda car play navigation.

I have been looking for an answer non stop almost 24 hours now since my last post, I am stubborn and since all the normal ways do not work I experimented many different ways, even restoring from a backup does not work so for one person we deleted previous backups then created a new backup, you would think this might not work since it might be backing up corrupted data but it did work. We did not even restore from the new backup but just tried using Maps and it worked, don't know why but something changed in the phone when the backup was created. If you try this I would suggest deleting all locations in the Maps app first.

It is most likely not the car and not the phone as other car owners I know that have BMW and Subaru have the same issue, so what is left, Software, sometimes it works for a while and then it stops.

All you can do is try again........Settings......General.......CarPlay.......Honda........Tap Forget this Car......try again.

Well Good Luck 🍀 I will keep on trying to figure out a way and if I do I will get back to you even though I will be switching back to my BlackBerry as Apple will not let me Restore my iPhone without updating it which I cannot do as then I will have to update my Mac and lose a program I paid Apple 💰for.
