New SSD Shows Wrong Capacity

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini (that I wasn't really using much) and I had a Samsung 500GB SSD not being used (at all) so decided to toy around and replace the 1TB fusion drive in the Mini. After quite a few stumbles I managed to get the OS installed and everything appears to be working well but the OS is reporting the 500GB SSD as being 1TB in size. Is there a way to correct this?

Hello,

Thank you for this screenshot.

Did you try to construct a DIY fusion drive? Your Samsung SSD is showing the correct size and the root device of "APPLE HDD HT.." shows the type as "Disk" not "Solid state". This would indicate that this 1 TB disk is a mechanical spinning disk and not a SSD. It appears to me that you have a 1 TB mechanical disk fused with a 500 GB solid state disk.
