When a new version of Logic is launched (assume next version is XI or 11) is it a free update or is there a premium as with other DAW's?
New to producing and looking to purchase a DAW but need to make sure its the right choice first!

When it went from version 9.0.0 to 10.0.0 was there an upgrade fee?
The current update from version 10.0.0 to 10.4.7 is a sub/patch update and is still the current version, version 10.
You were asking for updates. Updates have been free since 10.0.0. Upgrades, however, are not. If you consider 199,- a premium, you're in the wrong business. That being said, you will need or want a newer Mac every couple of updates and *that* will be at a premium.
There will be no Logic 11. So if you buy Locic Pro X, updates will be free forever and ever and ever and ever. For-e-ver. And if by some sort of freak of nature or executive decision or otherwise they will not be free, then they will not be free. Nothing you can do about anything, there are no "rights" to be had, there is no entitlement.
Yes, all updates are free, have been eversince Logic Pro X 10.0.0 (we're now at 10.4.7)
