Hello maryaventura1,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. From what you described, it sounds like you're not able to use Home Sharing on your Apple TV. I'd be happy to provide information that may help.

First, be sure that you've set up your devices using the steps here: Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices.

Next, check to see if any firewalls or security settings are causing this. On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and select Firewall. If the firewall is blocking all incoming connections or allowing only essential services, click Firewall Options and edit the settings.

Finally, if you're still having trouble, please reply with whether or not you were able to use Home Sharing previously.

Take care.

Allen, thank you for your response. Luckily, I resolved this problem 2 days ago and it was related to installing OS Catalina on my MacBook Air. I was very disappointed by many problems I've got after installing this latest release and went to Apple store and they re-installed my system back to High Sierra. This step helped me to overcome many latest problems including the one with Apple TV. Thank you again. Mary
