Tried to back up my Mac Catalina 10.15.1 to external SSD 2TB from SanDisk. Despite several (asked) erases/formattings the CCC refuses to execute task and asked every time to erase and format the disk.... but Mac OS extended journaled is OK (Disk Utility). Any guess?

The Partition Map Scheme need to be GUID Partition Map instead of Master Boot Record.
Then for Catalina the Format need to be APFS instead of FAT-32, ExFat.

Mac OS extended Journaled. Backup intended to be done by Carbon Copy Cloner CCC (as indicated above). But CCC refuses by asking on and on to formate (which I did before), but my only 4 formatting selections of Disk Utility are the one selected, Mac OS journaled case sensitive, MS Dos, ExFat.
Thank you All for your help! found out that I had no GUID Partition Map because I had only Volumes selected in Disk Utility, instead of "show all devices". Now everything worked well, but quite a bit complicated!...
How is the SSD formatted and exactly how are you attempting to backup? Please read Writing an effective Apple Support Question so we do not need to ask a lot of questions in order to assist you.
I think the external drive would need to be formatted as APFS as this is what macOS Catalina runs on, not Mac OS extended Journaled.

You formatted the SSD incorrectly. SSD's should be formatted as APFS.
