Has Apple fixed the #flexgate manufacturing defect in replacement units to repair 2017 13” MacBook Pro display ?

Although Apple has released a backlight repair program to service 2016 13” MacBook Pros with #flexgate issue for free but they haven’t included 2017 models, now the question is even if I do paid repair for 2017 model, will the issue reoccur after around 1.5 years of regular usage or the replacement parts does not have the same manufacturing defect that had led to backlight issue in the first place because otherwise the issue will keep reoccurring every 1-2 years ?
