Photo/Video Import Help

i've been having the same issue . my windows pc won't import photos or videos (it says no files found) when clicking on the iphone at the devices and drives folder option.

when i use my iphone as a "file explorer" it takes varying times of 10 sec to 1 min to recognize. i can cut/move 1-2 files (.mov files) at a time before it gives an error "a device attached to the system is not functioning". i've been trying to import 4000 photo/video files to back them up. this iphone X has been nothing but problems. i don't even recall issues with previous iphone models.

any advice would be appreciated.
