Remove Browser Hijacker SearchPulse

I've just opened up Safari and the home page has changed to 'SearchPulse.net'.

I've been infiltrated by Malware before from irresponsibly downloading flash player without checking the legitimacy. However I haven't downloaded any software for months and always double check it's legitimacy after learning the hard way.

I can't understand where this malware has come from. More to the point, I can't get rid of it? Has anyone else had this issue who would be able to help me remove it?

I've gone onto activity monitor and found a few culprits, but i don't know how to delete them.

Some suspicious ones are 'Artemissearchdeamon' 'launchd' 'productevent'.

Theers in advance for any help.

Hi Eric,

I navigated to System Preferences/Profiles. There wasn't a profile for setting the Safari homepage, but there were a couple of Chrome profiles. I deleted both of them, since I don't use Chrome any more, and it appears to have worked. I also downloaded and ran Combo Cleaner; it didn't discover search pulse.net per se, but it did discover another malware program, which I deleted.

So, for now, at least, problem solved!

Thanks very much,

Bill J.

You have adware/malware installed. Use  Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac. It may be necessary to run more than one scan.  After scanning a couple of times, restart the computer and test. If necessary, follow the manual instructions.  Do not download any other programs that are listed in the articles.   Malwarebytes uninstall

Search.serachpulse,net uninstall
