Gift Card not received despite the "Your gift card has been emailed." mail

Hi all,


About 8 hours ago, I bought an iTunes Gift card for iTunes UK (in £), with a guest account to be sent by email. Half an hour after the purchase, I received the "Your gift card has been emailed." mail. However, the recipient still has not received any email regarding the gift card. I already considered the following:


  1. The recipient email is correct.
  2. The mail is not in the junk/spam or any other folder.
  3. I connected the purchase from the guest account to a real account just to be able to see the "Resend Gift" option in Account Settings, but nope, I can't see even "Gifts" under Purchases.
  4. The money was withdrawn from my card around the same time I received the "Your gift card has been emailed." mail.
  5. I did email the Apple Support, but no one returned yet.
  6. Calling the Apple UK Support from where I am currently could cost me even more than the Gift Card itself.


Could you please help me with this?

Thank you for your clarification, King_Penguin.


However, I am well aware of that. When a fellow user -who ran into the same problem before- reads my message, they can help me by suggesting me try something new in a situation like this.


And from what I see in the Community, this kind of help happens all the time. Because the items in the list that I wrote in my opening message, under "I already considered the following", were all suggestions that I ran into while searching in this Support Community.


Therefore, this is what I am going to do now. Since my problem was solved just recently, I am going to write down how it happened to help people who will run into the same problem eventually after I did.


The Gift Card was sent at last. 20 hours after getting the "Your gift card has been emailed." mail, on the sender side, the recipient got the email containing the Gift Card. Normally there is only few minutes between those 2 emails. But apparently sometimes it can take as much as 20 hours after "Your gift card has been emailed." mail.
