I need to find fcpx 10.4.6 to update and stay compatible with my work partner. Haven't had much luck in finding this specific version. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have a MacBook Pro late 2016. I have recently upgraded from Sierra to Mojave. I have been using FCPX 10.4. My work partner is using FCPX 10.4.6 and we need the same version in order to exchange files. I have looked high and low for this version. I called Apple Support and they directed me to Michael at Creative Media and he was not able to find me a download for version 10.4.6.
Here is a possible solution - untested. I am confident 10.4.6 works in High Sierra. So you could download High Sierra (yes, it is available from Apple, you just have to search online for the link - you can’t find it directly in the App Store). If you install HS in an external drive, boot from it and go to the App Store to download FCP you should be offered 10.4.6.
We tried that and we got an error message that said, "Final Cut Pro can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the App Stores and identified developers."
You tried what? What exactly did you do?
Right-click on the application and select Open. You should get a dialogue that allows you to go to System Prefs Security to let you open the application.
What OS are you using? What computer is this?
Have your work partner ZIP their copy of 4.6 and send it to you.
Does the software know to put my license number on his copy when I stick fcpx in my applications. I guess I’m not sure how it works. Thanks
There is no license number. You just use it.
Thanks, Tom!
Thank you, Luis.
All right, Tom. that did the trick! thanks
