The entire screen freezes for about half a second about once every 1-5 minutes, it gets worse if I use it actively, switching applications, interacting with the menues alot etc.
I believe this is an issue with the automatic graphics switching. When I turn it off and run it off the dedicatied GPU, the issue seems to go away. Has anybody else experienced anything similar?

I am experiencing the exact same thing...
While scrolling inside Visual Studio code the computer stutters and switching tabs inside Google Chrome sometimes takes forever...

You not seeing it does not make it nonexistent, just an anecdotal evidence.
It froze on me today when trying to scroll down in my email.
I do not see this at all and use my MBP 16 for such tasks daily.
I can't imagine what the difference is (no external monitor, though.)

Same here... So now I have enabled switching between graphic cards and also truetone...
So far i haven't seen any microfreeze problems yet - fingers crossed
Sadly the issue came back after all, but it seems it is not as severe or frequent as before.
Are you using an external monitor?
Rarely, but when I do, it has never been an issue because it switches to the discrete graphics.
Well I use mine regularly as a laptop and I have never seen any trace of this issue, so there has to be a contributing factor.
10.15.3 and this issue still exists and everything is sluggish as **** when I'm using the internal graphic card.
Luckily I'm plugged in all the time so I just keep it on the dGPU.
