Apple music search missing from OSX music app

We have a family subscription to Apple Music.

When I search to hear a new artist.

• The Apple Music app searches my collection of music (ie that I have bought and placed on my Library.
• But it does not search Apple Music - in fact I can find nowhere else top search...
• on the RHS opposite the search it has a greyed panel saying "Your Library"

How do I get to access the service we are paying to share?
