MacBook Pro 16 external display issues

I've switched from MacBook Pro 15 2017 to newest Pro 16 and I'm experiencing issues with external display that keeps turning on and off constantly. By the brief moments the display shows normal desktop screen with no glitches whatsoever then it turns black for couple of seconds then it displays desktop again and it keeps on going constantly. I've checked the adapter, the cable and the power, I've also connected to various ports in Pro 16. It still works with the Pro 15 on the same OS and cables. The display is EIZO CE240W connected through DVI adapter. I've used the same version of newest OS Catalina on both computers. Anyone know how to fix this ?

I have been using my LG 38UC99 display with my old Macbook Pro without any issues. I recently switched to the new 16 inch Macbook Pro and now when the Macbook wakes up from sleep (most of the times) the display won't work. Switching the display port to a port on the opposite side of the Mac solves it sometimes, but most of the times I have to restart the Macbook to get the display to work. Otherwise my Macbook display keeps flashing while there is nothing on the external display. Looks like its trying to switch between the Macbook display and the external display on and off. Not sure how to solve this issue.

Using new adapter, in this case club cac-1510 solved the problem in this particular case pro16 + eizo 24 via dvi cable

Different results from different sides suggests a possible failure in the ThunderBolt chip that drives that one side ports.

My issue doesn't happen every time connected to the display. But when it does, switching sides is not helpful.

I have this problem too, but it seems to happen only after waking up from sleep and disappears after a reboot.

No but they do get crash reports. Which is why it is insane this problem hasn't been solved.

That’s why I don’t send reports. They get allot of information from those reports that had nothing to do with the problem. And you send 50 reports 6 months later problem still persists.

I hope this doesn't jinx me, but since the last (giant) Catalina update, my external Thunderbolt display has always woken up when the laptop wakes from sleep.

Since taking the 10.15.4 (19E266) update, I haven't had the external monitor wake-up problem happen once.
