Hi, just recently updated to 13.3 on my iphone 11 pro, now for some reason I am being prompted for a password for an apple ID i dont know - anyone else experiencing something similar. The phone is about a week old.

I have been searching for an answer for this for a while, best I found was if you have ever in the dark and distant past downloaded music as a torrent or anywhere else from someone else who purchased it and shared it with you, if you go into your songs list on the iTunes (music app) on your PC or Mac and sort it by "purchased" you will see the rogue email address and delete these songs, it should cure it.
If you purchased the phone as a new phone, you are entitled to 90 days of telephone support from Apple. Try contacting them.
Work through the screens to get an email or chat option.
Mine has not returned since restarting both devices.
I am in contact with Apple Care T2 who are liaising with engineering. They seem to think it’s either safari pop up 😒 or some sort of content (book,song, movie). The only content I have is some torrented books. I’ll be removing them soon to see if it comes back. I will report my findings.
I have been chasing support over this, they seem to be at a loss as to root cause. My only suggestion at this time is to also log your issue with them so they have visibility of how widespread this issue is
I wouldn’t reset as this doesn’t resolve the issue, this is something that Apple Support have at least acknowledged. However in logging a support case with them, they will probably ask you to do this anyway.
I don’t have the music.app on my phone. I’ve never purchased with this Apple ID. I have spoken with Some Retail store employees and they seem to think. “It’s a crappy bug that has happened before that will likely be resolved with a software update”
Hey @Stevey88 have you tried resetting as new? This is the only thing left. I’m very against it and will be super happy if this is the solution.
I’m having this issue also. I’m on 2nd tier support and we erased my watch today, set up as a brand new watch - no fix to the problem I’m still getting random prompts for unrecognised Apple ID’s to the point I have now stopped using my watch
Will keep you updated, have sent logs to their engineers but have yet to hear anything positive, still investigating. Seems so have occurred since the latest watch OS update 6.1.1. So try to avoid this update if you can, couple of friends of mine updated to this and are now presented with the same issue.
had the support request for this one. chatted and spoken to 3 people.
just ran a diagnostics remotely and been promised that they escalate it to developers and will contact me within 2 days.

Yeah thats what I'm banking on to fix the issue - a future watchOS or iOS update. I even set up my iPhone and watch with no 3rd party apps and music (the music app wasn't even installed) so it was just vanilla stock, and unfortunately the issue re-appeared a few days later and I too get stuck in a loop with the watch and phone.
I had a prompt yesterday. 1 day after updating.
if I think about it I updated my phone first. Ok for a day. Updated my watch a day later and then the error occurred.
Is watchOS the problem?
Either way my next step is to remove my iBook content.
Question for anyone presented with this issue, are you able to make facetime calls from the watch and/or use the walkie-talkie function? I can receive facetime calls from the watch but not make any from the watch (not that i use this function much). Further highlighting an apple ID sign-in issue related to the watch for me.

I keep getting random times and days two pop ups for 2 unknown apple IDs
They always appear on the watch first and then when I dismiss it in moves to the watch. I have set the watch as new and even restored the phone as new. I have no music/videos that's why we have Spotify and netflicks for. I have spoken to different apple people and they all keep telling me the same. "only way is you logged in what that Apple ID and downloaded something" No I didn't I don't know these Apple IDs or password.
If the popup was weekly I would get over it but it normally pops up twice a day and sometimes in will pop up, up to 6 times on both devices in like 5 mins, it annoys me so much I reset the watch. Some times it doesn't bother me for a week. I have no idea when it will happen. so random,. I spoke to apple again today and the person was also struck as she knew I was techy so I knew what I was on about
