Stuttering on downloaded movies on Itunes

When ever I try to play any movie purchased on iTunes, from my Windows 10 PC, it stutters. Not the sound, the playback. It is very annoying, as if I find the exact same movie on Netflix, it works fine. Same goes for Scenes of a movie on Youtube.


Tried running both the app version on microsoft store and an older version. And yes I've uninstalled all Apple software from my PC and re-installed. I've even re-imaged my computer, thinking some software corruption was causing it. Plus I can play AAA games are ultra high settings, and still get 60+ FPS, with no stutter.


Specs are:

Windows 10 Pro 64bit

i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz

16 GB RAM

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 8GB video card

144 Hz display


As mentioned, when on Netflix, I can watch an HD movie, on my ultra wide and it's spectacular, as the black bars on top and bottom disappear for some, and it looks amazing. But for some reason, all these movies I've purchased on iTunes, are choppy and stutter and it's unwatchable. What am I doing wrong? Is there a hidden setting in iTunes to stop it from having choppy video playback? And no it's not my internet speed, even though I'm on 300MB fibre, I've downloaded the movies to my hard drive from iTunes, so network had nothing to do with it, and it was still choppy.


At least allow me to refund these movies, so that I can buy them somewhere that works

It's great to hear that they do work properly on your iPad. You mentioned uninstalling Windows on your PC and then reinstalling as well as using more than one version. When removing iTunes, did you remove the components in the order detailed in Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later or a different order? When removing iTunes, it's important to remove them in the specific order detailed there.


Have you also attempted to change the Playback preferences in the iTunes preferences? If not, review the changes you can make in Change Playback preferences in iTunes on PC
