Travel with the 2019 MacBook Air

Can the MacBook Air overheat when I put it in sleep mode and place it inside a laptop sleeve in my backpack when travel to and from work? Sometimes I feel the laptop a bit warm, not sure if it's the fan running or just from the warm weather we're experiencing.

From your description it seems as though the MBA is not sleeping.

When you close the lid the computer should sleep so the fan should not be running. When you open the computer's lid can you see that it is dark at first? If not that would indicate that the computer wasn't asleep which isn't good.

For what its worth, I put my MBA into a sleeve and then into my briefcase or backpack and travel with it all the time and have done ever since I bought my first one back in 2011.
