Apple Pencil no longer pairs

Hi,

I have an iPad Pro 11” with an Apple Pencil.

After updating to iPadOS 13.3, my Apple Pencil has stopped working. At first, I could connect it and the Apple Pencil oval would show up (with no battery) and would pulse from gray to white, but after doing a reset of my settings it now shows up on the top of the screen and shows the rotating Apple Pencil.

I have done a hard reset, reset the contents in settings, unpaired the pencil—all to no avail.

If you have any ideas they would be much appreciated.

Have you checked the Pencil tip to make sure it is screwed on securely?

Does it have enough battery to get it paired. Try to overnight charge by connecting the pad and pencil to pad. See in morning it works.

Yep I’ve left it on for a while. The strange thing is that it pairs to another iPad Pro but not to mine. This makes me think it has something to do with software but it seems like I’m the only one with this issue.

It worked for months and only stopped after upgrading to 13.3

I contacted Apple Support but they didn’t have a solution either...they suggested I replace the Pencil but I have one that is engraved and they can’t replace an engraved Pencil.

Yep but it isn’t an issue with the Pencil not controlling the iPad—it is an issue with the pairing to the iPad.
