why macair is asking for admin authorization to install catalina on hardrive when im already admin
Because you're making changes to system files.
You have to authenticate again to verify the change is authorized.

You enter the password for your account on your Mac... The same as you did when you logged into the machine after booting it up.
That message indicates that you are not, in face, an administrator.
sorry, i forgot to add that i did get to the point where it's asking for my password same like the one i use to log in, but then went nowhere after i got the message 'The operation couldn't be completed. Permission denied', and when i click ok on that the installation just retracted away
how do i authenticate again to verify the changes is authorized pls... no other option was given, including a need to authenticate, thx
that the reason my asking when i clearly see admin under my username, and a checked box im the administrator, and still being called a non-admin :(
