My left airpod is not working

My left airpod is not working even though I reset it several times. It is within warranty. In our city (Sendai, Japan) there is no apple store. What should I do?

Exactly the same issue is reported in several cases now!!!

I used my AirPods 2 with wireless charging case (5 months old, modell: A2031) with iPhone XR (updated to the news iOS version 13.3) until two days ago without any issues. Than most likely the firmware was updated on the AirPods since it was on charge and now I have 2C54 installed on it.

The left piece stopt working completely (no sound from it, no status sound after inserting into ear, not reacting to tapping, when opening the case next to the phone the connection widget in the bottom is either not shown at all or the pieces or the case is flickering on the GUI and a red warning is shown under the piece or the charging percentig is missing)

Made several screenshots from these connection anomalies.

Gone through every reseting method that's provided to the end user! Even went to an official authorized Apple reseller here in Hungary, where they confirmed that they to experience the case, but unfortunately can’t give me a service appointment, because they are fully booked.

WA:

One reset (after deleting the device from the phone holding the connect button on the case for 15 second) actually brought up the connection method where you have to push the button on the back of the case and after the setup is done, the sound is actually back in the left piece (plays music in stereo - which proves that the piece is not war damed of defected in hardware) but the tapping, ear detection, status sound and widget on the phone is still not working!

For a short term solution I would propose the above workaround.

(Would like to highlight for apple support that this method is NOT the official connection method between original Apple devices! When I first paired the AirPods and also during the last 2 days got in some occasions the method where no physical button press is required, only going through the setup prompts on the phone!)

Apple! Please stop providing the following link for each concerned user, because it’s not solving the problem in any means and by the time we reach this forum we have already looked up these methods on the internet with a standard search!

Please put effort into debugging and not wait until we have to involve several YouTubers to bring attention to the situation because the symptoms are identical in every mentioned case!

Dan's comment in this other post actually solved my case too! Seems this is the proper way to reset AirPods 2, because after I've done this the name of it also got reset, not like in the previous attempt, which were advised and carried out!

UPDATE: I was able to fix my problem by disconnecting the AirPods from my iPhone ("forget this device" in settings) then reconnecting. But in reconnecting the AirPods you have to keep pressing and holding the Bluetooth setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes amber a few times and then finally flashes white.

It must flush amber first to fix the problem.
