I'm trying to make a movie in iMovie

When I select photos to make a movie in iMovie, I have lots of videos and pictures that won't populate. It's as if iMovie hasn't updated from my photos. Any ideas?

Thanks, Mr CF

iMovie won't read photos stored in the Cloud, such as if you are using iCloud Photos with optimized storage. The photos must be located in your Photos library. If that is your situation, download the photos to your Photos library, and then see if iMovie will read them.

Also, iMovie will only link to the Photos library that is your system photos library. Open the Photos app and check the general preferences to make sure that the box is grayed out that says "Use as System Photos library". Grayed out means that it is already designated as the system Photos library.

Going through the process of opening the Photos app and checking the general preferences to make sure that the "Use as System Photos library" box was grayed out... which it was... I realized my photos were there. All I had to do was find them in iMovie which I did after clicking on Albums... videos which I had done before but didn't dig deep enough.

Thanks a agin, Mr. CF
