Iphone 7 No service issue, repair denied
I bought A1779 japan version of iphone 7 (i bought 2nd hand) on October 2018 and use it already more than a year with no issues. Update to IOS 13 for couple of months no issue. Then suddenly network went to "no service" noticed that Modem firmware got blank. Try to reset network setting with no luck. iPhone freezing while perform Network reset. So do factory reset by erasing all contents and setting. Try to setup as new phone or restore but no luck. It said iPhone Unable to activate. Now it stuck in Hello screen.
So then i found repair program with free repair. https://support.apple.com/iphone-7-no-service. Enter my iPhone SN and my iPhone is eligible to do repair. I choose Apple outlet in Brisbane, Australia to do repair then set up appointment in Genius bar. Driving 6 hour from rural area where i live to Brisbane, Australia. Meet one of the "genius bar" person. Tell him the story how my iPhone 7 get like this. Then he refused to repair because of it Japan version?? What the Fun.. How come the apple website can put your iPhone SN and eligible to do repair but when i came to Apple care to do repair they refused because different country?? He said if my iPhone was Australian version he can just swap it straight away. But this issue happen on A1660, A1780, A1660, and A1779
Then I have a chat with the support guy and he said it was purchased on Sept 2016 and the program up to 3 years after first activation which is will expired in September 2019. But my iPhone had problem on November 2019. Each electronic component had different life span. Maybe my iPhone had little longer life span. Come on Apple.. Your team can do better than this.
