Please verify that you redeemed the offer and activated the subscription as described on: Get Apple TV+ free for one year - Apple.

The Apple TV+ subscription is for Apple TV+ content in the Apple TV app. Other content in the Apple TV app is not included, such as iTunes Store movies and TV shows (buy/rent per item).

I hadn't been subscribing. The link sent in the email offering one free year of Apple TV was what I clicked on. In any case, even if you have been a subscriber why on earth would that make you unable to receive the same offer as everyone else? Penalised by the fact that you've already been paying Apple money??? Not logical. The fact that 4 new devices were bought at the same time is neither here nor there in terms of the activation but it certainly does add salt to the wound. Not happy with Apple service at all on this. Happy to continue to make those thoughts known.

If one had already subscribed then they would have claimed the standard trial. As per the terms one cannot combine the 12 month offer with any other offer or trial. Hence, they would no longer qualify by official means. One would be free to contact Apple to get an exception, but it would be within their discretion. The terms also make it clear that it is one offer regardless of of number of items purchased. Those terms would be standard and hardly isolated to Apple.

Even if one were new to Apple everything is well documented. They may be similar but there is a clear distinction. A reasonable person would have all the facts and not simply make an assumption, and it would also not be logical to expect to have access to a full digital marketplace, like iTunes, as well as all other provider's channels for $5 USD. In fact it works very closely to Amazon's app, and they also didn't have a lot of content when they first started. If they had decided to only offer originals they would likely have had even less then Apple at launch. TV Plus currently has 15 series and 3 movies, which is hardly nothing, and more is added each month.

Idk, it's a free offer. I doubt anyone is going to do heavy research into the terms of something that's free. It says free Apple TV+. I accept because its free, I expect to watch stuff in the Apple TV App plus some for a year. If I don't like it I cancel my subscription before being charged.

I'm not mad at Apple for giving away something free. I was confused, so I researched it and apparently a lot of other people were confused as well.

Idk know about iTunes but I get access to almost everything on Hulu except live stuff for $1.99 a month. Hulu clearly states that you don't get access to live TV and anything else that you don't have access to. I don't need to go search for terms and conditions to figure out how to watch a movie. 😂

Just because something is free doesn't mean you can just assume and then complain because it wasn't what you thought it was.

There are select people who also make that assumption, and it has nothing to do with searching terms and conditions. It is all laid out very easily and it is clear to see in marketing, any readily available documentation on the service as well as the fact the it clearly shows what is available in the Apple TV Plus service when in the app. Also, when one goes to claim the offer they would have to navigate there anyway where they can very easily browse what is available.

Hulu has a select library of programming and that is a promo price. It doesn't have anywhere near what iTunes offers, plus the selection from other Apple TV channels. All of which you were expecting to have access to here.

I can’t figure anything out in the app. I was able to war him The Morning Show but nothing else appears free or included with the app and now to make matters worse, I have this annoying pop up notification telling me to link Apple Music despite having decided to delete it from my iPad. Apple is supposed to be user friendly. This is a pain and anything BUT user friendly.

Agree fully! I respectfully disagree with vazandrew. Sorry dude, Yes,agree with the due diligence,etc...but if I have to wade through a pool of this and that....when the initial offer was presented as “free” something doesn’t smell right there dude. There’s a term for these kinds of actions....”bait and switch”. Happens all the time! ****** to see it coming from Apple! All good here...not offended....but Apples move is surly noted...oh and I did accept the offer, but, I think you know what I’ll be doing . ✌️

You only get free access to Apple TV+, which is a streaming service of only Apple’s content.

About 10 shows and 5 movies.

Everything else in the app is from other streaming service providers like HBO and costs money because Apple can’t give it away for free because it’s not on their streaming service. Why they include it in the Apple TV app?🤷‍♂️💵.

Sorry, but it doesn't require "wading through a pool of this and that'. Apple TV Plus is very clearly marketed as a service for Apple originals only. Furthermore, there is a clear section within the TV app for Apple TV Plus, which shows exactly what is offered within that service. One also has to go into that section in order to claim the offer. If that is what you are basing your statement on then i'm sorry, but it doesn't hold any weight.

The service now consists of 22 shows and 4 movies. New content has consistently been added each month. The app not only consists of other Apple TV channel subscriptions, but content from the iTunes store (available for purchase or rental). That TV app was available long before the streaming service and it's purpose is to consolidate content from various providers into one interface.

I’m just as mystified as you are, why on earth would they make you think you were being rewarded for buying a new apple product ? To me it stinks of misleading the customers. If I had known then what I know now I wouldn't have bothered.

i didn’t sign up for myself, I signed up to keep my grandchildren amused but I can’t afford to amuse at those prices living on my OAP pension. I’m afraid I’ll just have to give it amiss..

May 9, 2020 3:09 AM in response to vazandrew

How do I claim these 22 shows and 4 movies, when I click on something I’d like to watch I’m face with a buy or rent question. I have no intentions of buying Or renting anything from them, there’s a big difference from free to renting, I think it’s a scam just to get you to sign up.

it’s a true saying “you get nothing for nothing in this day and age” it seems I don’t learn my lesson until I’ve been scammed.

thank you for you assistance to this matter.
