@Vancouver22 - thank you for your civil msg. Contrary to the assumption that some will make of those of us who have not been able to get this purported 'free' year of subscription of Apple TV+, I can actually read and did follow instructions. I am now outside the 90 days, but I was within 90 days when I first attempted to get this working. Neither the AppleTV app on the iPad I purchased nor on Roku that I am running on my TV recognizes the 'free' subscription even though I followed the instructions in the link that was sent to me by Apple when I made the purchase. (Yes, I received an email inviting me to take advantage of this 'offer' - this means Apple knows who I am, and should know that they made this offer to me.) Even when I am logged in to my apple ID on either the appleTV app on iPad or Roku, I have the option to watch the first episode of a very small number of series (none of which interests me..), and there is a button to 'Try Apple TV+ Free' for 7 days. This tells me that it has not recognized that I have signed up for the 1 year freebie.
Based on my experience, my opinion is that is a lousy service, and I have a calendar reminder to cancel the subscription before the 1 year anniversary so that Apple doesnt try to charge me for the second year. In fact, I think I'll just go cancel it now since it's not of any use to me at the moment anyway!:)
I have had nothing but good experiences with my Macbook (the sale and after sale service, as well as the product itself), which is what made me spend 3x as much on an iPad as I could have on an equivalent Andriod tablet. This particular offering from Apple however (Apple TV and Apple TV+) is very very poor, and Apple should be ashamed of itself for putting out this sort of a rubbish product.
