Free 1 year apple tv subscription

How do I claim these 22 shows and 4 movies, when I click on something I’d like to watch I’m face with a buy or rent question. I have no intentions of buying Or renting anything from them, there’s a big difference from free to renting, I think it’s a scam just to get you to sign up.

it’s a true saying “you get nothing for nothing in this day and age” it seems I don’t learn my lesson until I’ve been scammed.

Good points dude...but Apples business model is making a shift....check out some good articles on za internet regarding what I just said. They’re going for the subscription model now that phone sales are lagging...I have no problems with this or that....so yeah,it is what it is....peace!

I hate to be misled, I only respond to misleading advertising when I get angry,I can honestly say that I felt angry when I realised that we were not be telling the truth.

Yep, it's a rip off. All the free content is pretty trash and the paid for stuff is pretty expensive. Had it since Feb and have hardly used it even with lockdown. At least with Netflix you know where you are. Will cancel when monthly billing starts.

I completely agree ... I bought an iPad, the free one yr subscription rebate was an advertised plus, until I realized they were Banking on ppl not remembering they would be charged anyway & its really not a rebate for a purchase but it’s a way to try to trap ppl for a period of time for revenue..... completely disappointing & will never use their streaming service just because of this shady practice .... Apple knows how to be clear when they need to, this is purposefully misleading... shame on you Apple

Your credit card info is required to charge after one full year,  if you don’t cancel.it will begin charging monthly. You have an Apple device with Reminders and Siri. All you have to do is ask Siri to set a reminder in a year from when you sign up. This way you can’t forget. Those of us who wish to keep the service don’t want it stopping because we have to then add our cc. 

You want it set up to be to your preference when this doesn’t suit others- but again there is no obligation to keep it and ever be charged at all. None of us have been charged yet. 

Netflix, Britbox and  others have the same subscription methods, but they only give one free month trial. Then it will begin charging. Nobody complains about that.  

We also subscribed to the 1 year free trial service in Feb '20 but have been getting charged $7.99 USD per month for the past 3 months. I have only just identified that this is the case.

The email clearly stated "Free Trial for 1 Year" -- so why are we getting charged?

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and the idea of getting Apple TV for a year was something that encouraged me to replace my perfectly fine MacBook Air - to then only discover that it was a cheating tactic! I am incredibly disappointed and actually rather disgusted to find Apple throws the small print on your face, yet again. It is clear that many users find this misleading, so under common sense and balance fairness, it must be misleading! I have been al loyal Apple customer for almost 20 years now. Everything I have is Apple, BUT with the sort of dishonesty/misbehaviour Apple is showing and with tactics of "Misleading Advertisement" such as on this occasion, it raises doubts if I should consider investing anymore of my honestly earned money in to any more Apple products..

Come-on Apple, sort it out! Give people access to use Apple TV services freely as they were intended (to be able to watch stuff without being charged yet again) Or shall we get Trading Standards involved (in the UK) for a quick look at your dodgy ways of misleading your most loyal customers?

Totally agree. Misleading and confusing taking you to landing pages with no clear description on what content is free. Confusing with Apple + and other itunes content. Designed to mislead and take your money. Unless you are tech savvy and want to read all the fine print. Consumer Affairs next to force Apple to set up clear boundaries and content delineation which isn't really much to ask for

Yeah it’s all pretty bull. As far as any TV streaming service goes, the selection is downright awful. Not to mention the very very very limited amount you are able to stream for free. Honestly don’t see a point in it except to try to earn more business on Apple’s end.

It’s very sad to say that Apple should make all of the content free during the 1 year trial, in the Apple TV app. Especially if they want people to subscribe once the trial is over. At least let us experience what the app is trying to offer. Considering the cost of their products, this one should be a freebie. I’m not complaining about the product costs, because if I was I wouldn’t be an “Apple Junkie.” But come on! Give us this one.

This is like going to a cinema theater, paying a ticket but then you realice that you have to pay extra to actually see a film. So your ticket was only to be in the lobby. It is really confusing and such a bad costumer experience. I was interested in watching some stuff but I have to pay for everything that i linked. And for my surprise it is not a mistake! So as my first look into appleTV is basically that there is no point in this absurd service. Netflix, HBO, Amazon are all cristal clear about what you are in fact paying for.

Met too. I though I got a one year free subscription because I purchased a new MacBook Pro but I tried to watch a movie with Bill Murray and it froze on me. Then I tried other movies I was only allowed to watch the trailer. It is very poorly designed compared to Netflix or Prime. I am extremely disappointed with Apple on this so-called free one year subscription. It is a scam!

The Apple TV platform is the WORST of any streaming service I have encountered. Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu are all far superior to Apple TV. So little content on Apple TV is actually included with their subscription. I won't be keeping the subscription beyond the 'free' one year that was offered to me. What good is a 'free' subscription when you are asked to pay for 99% of content available?
