You had 90 days from the date of purchase to get the free subscription. You waited too long. Sorry.

I agree with the volume of postings. The Free Apple TV subscription should state limitations. Having several Desktops and iPads along with the Apple TV box I can understand the complaints. I see that I am forced to view authorized content on only the Mac mini that I used to subscribe. Not a deal breaker only after the free year I will cancel any monthly charge and revert to my Amazon Prime and Britbox subscription on my real Apple TV hardware.

It's interesting if Apple truly does not read these posts. A few days ago, another user posted a sarcastic snide comment directed at me, and I responded by posting a message simply asking that user why s/he was so defensive of Apple. My response did not contain any foul or offensive language, yet was deleted within a minute of me posting it. It would appear to me that Apple is monitoring this forum, but only takes actions when it suits them to do so.

Nope, Apple employees are not actively monitoring these forums. Users that reach a certain level gain the ability to report posts they think violate the Terms of Use on these forums. The report is then reviewed by the forum admins and a decision is made to delete or edit the post based on the report. If you had a post deleted it was because a higher level user reported it. FWIW I did not report any of your posts.

Users gain points by helping people solve their issues or answering their questions. You get 10 points when a user marks your response as having solved their problem or answered their question. You get 5 points if a user marks your response as helpful. Finally, you get 7 points if Apple marks your response as Apple Recommended. So when you see users with thousands of points it means they have been helping people for a long time with good and helpful solutions and answers. You don’t get points based on the number of posts you make, just the ones marked solved, helpful, or recommended.

Apple TV subscription is such a rort. I also got the free ‘year’ when I bought my iPad. You have to pay for everything! Some of the movies I’ve wanted to watch have actually been free on Stan or Netflix. Can’t believe they actually charge people for it!

I hear yeh, why would someone pay 5.99 a month, just to see that Apple on your TV. I’m canceling mine, even if it’s free for a year. Not to mention anything you have to pay for on there, is way over priced. What a rip off

All I want to do is turn off the channels that are not part of the apple package. I can get a 15 year old movie for free virtually everywhere. I dont want to have to buy CBS or whatever for another $ 15. Some on this chat are defensive to complaints. The shows are very good quality, audio and video. But the apple plus selection is very limited. Again, new to the service but all I want to do is turn off the 'extra' non apple plus channels. Looking for help.

Im NOT new to apple and it’s confusing to me, now I’m just irritated at why they have to change the NORMAL format like hulu or netflix or prime, Apple original only has like 5 things to watch.

Absolutely some of the users here are very defensive of Apple. People like you who dare to say anything short of extremely positive of the company have no gratitude whatsoever for how the company is making the world a better place for us all! In fact, without Apple, I'm sure we'd all be eating dirt in caves. All hail Apple!

Why am I still an apple user?

I’m married but sometimes complain about my wife.

I have a dog but sometimes I complain about certain behaviors.

I own a Car but complain about traffic, or some features on the car.

I have a great paying job that creates frustration at times.

Should I leave my wife, sell the dog and car and quit my job?

I can love something and still complain about it, I love apple products and would never go back to a Microsoft type system.

I received a lot of replies warning me that apple users will attack me over my post but anyone who’s used apple for 5+ years would agree that things have changed, I’m old school, so old school I had a commodore 128 when they first came out.

My post was having some fun with the subject matter, nothing I said is insulting or defamatory in fact I wrote it with the Apple staff in mind knowing they’d get a chuckle out of it, it’s not their fault Apple lost some (some guys just some) of their momentum and rightly so but it’s been ten years since Mr. Jobs returned to the Source to complete the matrix and the evolution has been slow going here in Zion 01.

Believe it or not people used to talk politics together in my day, it was no different than discussing who you voted for on American Idle, my opinion only matters if you let it matter.

I got Apple TV+ also with a new iPhone. And when I look at the movies you still have to pay for them or rent them. I already have Netflix and Roku so Apple TV+ doesn’t do a thing for me. I am canceling my free membership. I personally think it’s misleading and a rip off. Just to let you know. Thank you very much

Same thing happened to me. I bought three Macbooks for my triplets at the start of the school year and was offered one year Apple TV. Thus far we've been unable to watch any Apple TV content. The few times we've tried to watch Apple TV, each time it's tried to charge my credit card registered with the app store. The whole experience has been very misleading.

Totally misleading I activated the service and added my credit card detail. But to watch movies you have to pay 300 or something per movies which are available for free in other ott. Why Apple TV subscription is so worst.

the interesting part is that when you go to cancel the subscription it let you cancel from the instally and not auto cancel it after subscription expired.

it means it you forget to cancel your subscription at last month they will charge you.

just money making and kind of trap for subscribers.

I recently purchased an iphone that had a 1yr Apple TV subscription attached. When I attempted to redeem, I was asked for credit card info. I have no intentions of providing credit card info! Am I able to use this or is this yet another Apple rip off???

Totally agree that the advertising is misleading as well.
