I can't get yahoo to work with macbook air mail and a secondary security code

I can't get yahoo to work with macbook air mail and a secondary security code. Macbook air mail app keeps telling me it doesn't recognize this device please use secondary authentication, which I do both with phone number and email address and it just keeps bringing me back to the same page saying it doesn't recognize the device.

I have tried everything including deleting it and trying to re-install the yahoo account but I keep getting in this loop.

Does anyone at Mac or otherwise have a solution?

Thanks,

A

Yahoo email account is a mess with third party email clients. The merger of AOL, Verizon, and Yahoo has created a nightmare for third party clients, the server settings are different for different clients. You sometimes need to disable more secure email client settings in your Yahoo webmail account to allow it to connect from Mail.

Note: Mac is the name of the computer and operating system made by Apple Inc.
