Rainbow beachball spinning forever on login screen after overnight sleep

I have always been annoyed by XPS15’s going black screen after waking up from sleep, which is one of the reasons I switched to a new 16inch MacBook Pro early this week. But what disappoints me is that after a nightlong sleep the Mac stuck at the login screen with rainbow beachball spinning forever, not allowing me to enter the password. After some Googling, it seems to be a common issue (see the discussions at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8465034). I also have the problem with slow password typing response mentioned in that thread even when a wake-up is successful, especially with external monitor plugged in. Anyone else also experiencing similar problems? Is MacOS such a buggy system even with a brand new MacBook Pro?

Thanks in advance for any feedback and sorry for the sense of frustration. Trying to switch from Windows PC I really had high expectations for MacBook and MacOS...

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

You can Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Also even thought his is a different issue/different Mac I would try this charging protocol and see if it makes a difference:

a long shot, maybe.

You do have a limited 14-day to return for a full refund or exhange for one that works without issue.

You also have 90 days of call in support, this is a one on one with Apple tech Support—in an effort to resolve your issue: https://support.apple.com/my-support I would take advantage of this resource.

The holiday return period is in effect, if you purchased it from Apple online or from an Apple StorePurchases made between November 15 and December 25 —can be returned through January 8. See: Returns & Refunds - Shopping Help - Apple
