itunes gift card

Today I purchased a $15 itunes gift card and I get home and try to redeem it and comes up with the error message, Unable to redeem because of no activation and to visit this website. Please let me know how to fix this issue.

Ask the people at the store the gift card came from or the iTunes Store staff for assistance.
