Apple Watch - ECG function not working in India

Purchased an Apple watch series 5 from UAE 2 days back. Was told by the the Apple store team that everything will work in India as i mentioned that this is for use in India. Upon configuration i realized that the ECG app is not working. Called up the apple support in India and was told that this is not supported as the region of purchase was UAE. What do we do now. Is this not a software lock that gets enabled based on the region. All my devises under my ID has the region as India. Is there any support available to make this feature work

The unit must be purchased in the country that it is to be used in.

It doesn't matter that your ID is set a India, the watch is set for UAE so you need to wait for the UAE to approve the ECG function.

There is no work around for that.

Maybe you can get your money back on the watch and then purchase one locally.
