How do I install HP driver for HP Laser Jet 4100 DTN

I have an older, every expensive HP Laser Jet 4100 DTN. It has inputs for Internet, Parallel, Serial, and FIR (8 pin). There must be a driver that will support one of these inputs. I'm running MacOS Catalina 10.15.2. I've tried to see the printer by connecting an Ethernet Cable to my router. It doesn't see it. Any way to use this printer? Or a HP Laser Jet 4 Plus, which is an older printer?

Hate to not be able to use these magnificent printers.

Thanks for any suggestions

HP LaserJet 4 Plus and HP LaserJet 4100 Series are both listed in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. A download can be found at HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X. However, you may have to test whether anything here will work under the latest macOS versions. See also https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05900790. Otherwise, you could try a generic driver, as mentioned by BDAqua.

I have an ethernet interface for my MacBook Pro and also for my iMac 27" (three years old). What I'm looking for is a driver that the MacOS (Catalina) can run to talk to this printer. There is nothing on the HP website.

Wondering if I can find the Internet address of the printer, manually enter it and then maybe the iMac can see it?

I plugged the printer into my router, but the iMac could not see it.

Sorry, I didn't ask the question right. Looking for a driver for this printer, or for the Laser Jet 4 Plus, or the Minolta Pageworks 20 or for the Okidata OL830 Plus These four printers are quality printers, but are around 20 years old. So far can't find drivers for them. Most have parallel interfaces.

Anything of interest on the following user guide pages?

For other old laser printers, with merely parallel ports, you may want to look for third-party external Ethernet-to-parallel port print servers (with the appropriate protocol support).
