Fast charging iPhone XR

I recently got a 27W usb-c fast charger to use with my iPhone XR. However, I then realized I didn't have a usb-c cable to use with it.

I have a wireless charger that is compatible with PD. it connects with a micro-usb then with a usb-a on the other end. I also have a usb-c to USB adapter like this: USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple, so I just plugged that into the usb-a end of my wireless charger cable, and then plugged that usb-c part into the fast charger. Will the fast charging still work this way, or do I need to get an actual micro-usb to usb-c cable instead, or something different? I've been kind of slow to get into this fast charging thing and I'm still trying to understand it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Fast Charge only works with the Apple USB-C to Lightning cable. However, I believe that it might charge a bit faster than the typical 2100 mA if connected to a USB-C port via a USB-A to USB-C adapter. It wasn't an XR, but I found that a MacBook Air was reporting 2400 mA reserved when connected with a standard Lightning cable plus adapter.
