Intermittent texting problems

So frustrating to be dealing for years with my wife’s phone not reliably sending SMS messages. If she weren’t inexplicably an Apple fan I’d be using Android.

I’ve been through all the steps in the support articles. Cycle airplane mode. Reset network settings. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn’t. Called support and they had us run through the same steps I can look up for myself on the Internet.

Even bought a brand new iPhone, figuring that surely this would be fixed. Still “the message failed to send.”

$1.3 trillion company and Apple can’t make a phone that sends text messages reliably. So many reports of this problem. There’s a bug and Apple needs to fix it.

My wife has figured out how to make it work for you guys. It’s quite straightforward.

1. Switch to Airplane mode.

2. Turn off iMessage.

3. Turn Airplane mode off.

4. Send text.

5. Turn iMessage back on.

That’s right. Five steps to *send a text* from Apple’s 2017 flagship phone, the iPhone X.

It would be great if multi-billon dollar tech companies made products that worked.
