iPad air

I have an older ipad air that isn't allowing me to update the software. It says "The version of iOS running on your iPad does not support wirelessly updating to this version to this version of iOS. Plwase connect your device to iTunes on a computer to update to the latest software." Then it provides a link that no longer works. What should I do?

Can I update Ipad Air 2 from 9.3.1 to 15? I have an iPad Air 2 - model A1566 that is still on iOS 9.3.1. Can it be updated? When I go to Software Update it says an update is available and it shows that it is iOS 15. But Download and Install is grayed out. I've connected it to my laptop which has iTunes installed. I'm aware iTunes was discontinued. But it did let me do an update to iTunes. However, each time I try to get the software update to work on the iPad it just says I have to first install the upgrade for iTunes. But I already did. Like a vicious cycle that never lets me do the update. Am I just out of luck on this one? Thanks!!

IPAD update is in conflict with what Itunes says is the update when I plug in to download My IPAD shows a new update ios14 and says I need to plug into my computers Itunes to do the download, but when I do, my itunes says that the older IPAD version that I currently have, 9.3 is up to date/latest.

Plug it into a computer with iTunes installed, or a Mac running Catalina, click here, and follow the instructions.
