AirPods Pro Rattling Noise

I’ve only had my AirPods Pro for a bit over a month and my right AirPod has a rattling noise which originally was just when I coughed or cleared my throat and now it’s litterally every slight move it rattles. I use them primarily at the gym and it is the most annoying experience. I have disconnected my AirPods and re set them up but it’s still occurring. I don’t have the money for new ones as I’m about to start University is this something that Apple can fix?

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue too, it originally started with my right Airpod, I got that replaced with their DIY service but now recently it has started with my left one too. Songs with heavy bass or when running, it seems to very noticeable, One thing I’ve noticed, I don’t know if it’s the same with everyone else but when the AirPods are on the “OFF” position it’s not noticeable at all which I find very strange.

This same exact thing happened to me. I first had to get my left one replaced. And then my right one got replaced because it started having the same problems. And just recently my left one started doing the same thing. So I am very upset. You spend 250 dollars on a product that can’t even last a year. It will be a year in November and still having problems. Not happy. Especially when my year warranty is up. What happens after that? Should of just thrown 250 dollars in the trash.

Check This Out...

Me: Yes — thank you — Now I see online but there are several thousand customers complaining of AirPods rattling. Is there a known recall?

Apple: No, but as with any product, some matters are more “common” than others, if 1% of a million customers have the problem, that's gonna be 10,000 people, so issues like that can appear common But with AppleCare and warranty, should be no problem. ...Yeah I forget what the word is, “confirmation Bias” I think , but the 99% aren’t posting online to say that their AirPods work without error. but you best believe that 100% of people are posting or looking online when their AirPods DON'T work!

Me: Good thing airlines don’t think that way... in 2018 if you used Apple's reliability target 77M would die in a plane crash...Only 1%

Apple: Alright! So with that appointment scheduled just take a look here before visiting.

Just left my Aipods Pro for the 3rd time on the Repair Center, the left one 2 times have failed and the right one time. I bought them @ Best Buy and took the Apple Care because I wanted to protect the $250 plus tax out of my pocket. I wonder if I can get a refund like on other Best Buy Purchases, that I get Gift Card and buy something else, maybe properly working Bluetooth headphones. :-)

@BreeZee_17 sorry but your response is more antagonising than it is helpful. I’m not sure whether you formally represent Apple or not? I think it is already established that this issue is caused by an endemic hardware defect. It is a latent failure, which manifests after a period of time. I personally have had five (5) buds replaced thus far, so this can hardly be a batch issue. Other users have reported similar experiences.

The risk to all of us is that the warranty period doesn’t get extended when there’s a failure so eventually it will happen after the 12 month warranty on our device has lapsed and it will be a kick in the teeth when Apple then refuse to take action free of charge. At the end of the day, Apple need to be honest with their customers and share some statistics on this issue. What is the actual failure rate? Since Apple have remained silent on this, I have lost faith. If my AirPods fail again I will demand a refund.

Something inside me kept telling me to get the Apple Care. I didn’t want to waste $260 plus tax. Having said that, I spent numerous times on phone following that same troubleshooting guide. So I’m schedule to get the replacements today, but I completely lost faith in this product. This will be the last opportunity that I’m giving, and I will also demand a refund from Best Buy if they fail again.

I had this exact issue in my right AirPod pro earbud. Almost like something inside had come loose and rattled when I touched it or when I walked. Incredibly irritating. Especially given how much they cost.

i have apple care on them and chatted to support. Like mentioned above, they sent out a replacement ASAP and it’s working great.

now the left one has gone the same way!!! Wtf Apple. Sigh. Chatting to support tomorrow.

Got my replacement last Friday and both Airpods were replaced. In mu case I tried everything to get the software update and never worked, I was still on B software. The par replacef before those gor the C rev in no time. My “new” one have the D rev already.

So my Airpods Pro are failing like every 2 months, my main concern is Is this going to keep hapenning, which make me think that it is a design issue..

Too bad this product solve my problem in tje office, I can hear the people when I’m listening to music in the transparency mode, noise cancelling for the trash musIc at the gym and sweat proof. Add the fact that is so easy to seith between my mac, Iphone and my Apple Tv.
