"Initializing Core Audio" - Constantly popping up when using Logic Pro (16" MBP)

I can't edit in the piano roll or more tracks around in the editor because of the constant pop up. Whenever I drag or move anything every 8-10th try the program will freeze for a second, the pop up will appear quickly and go away, and things will return to normal.

I've been using logic for over a year on my Mid 2014 MBP and never had this issue. Really disappointed in the new 16" MBP that I got specifically to use logic - its absolutely unusable in this state.

The only plugin I have is the Syrum VST - I haven't been using it though so I'm pretty sure it isn't related.

Any idea about what's going on? Appreciate any and all help.

P.S. Another data point is that whenever I am using an internet video/ voice conference software, every two to three minutes the audio will re-configure and I'll lose access to my mic and call audio. It's happening with similar frequency to the Logic Pro issue but they may not be related. Again never had these issues on my old 2014 MBP.
