Apple tv, cannot close open apps

I have a problem with my Apple TV (4) Remote control functionality.

Remote control works fine most of the time (for example, I can browse through the apps on the home screen without problems, in all directions), but when I double click the TV button to close apps that are open, I cannot swipe to the left to select the open apps (and thus, I cannot close them). As soon as i touch the touchpad after the doubleclick on the TV button, the screen moves to the very right (even though I swipe to the left) and I am stuck.

It is only this one function—in other instances, using the touchpad to move to the left works perfectly fine...

It is the same both with the physical remote control and with the iPhone remote control app, so there is obviously no connection problem with the Apple TV remote control.

Does anybody else have this problem?
